SpecOps
G36C |

|
|
The G36C is an accurate, versatile weapon,
and a popular unlock for many players, with good single
shot and full automatic performance, from the hip or zoomed.
It does not come with a red-dot scope, so for some players
the M4 or AK-74U may be a better choice for longer range
engagements.

Sniper
M95 |

|
Details
The M95 is not the most accurate sniper rifle, nor
is it the most damaging. It does have the ability to
shoot through cockpit glass, and that may be the reason
that some damage numbers for the weapon show higher
than the M24, but in actual practice it does the same
damage to a player as the M24, requiring two hits to
the torso to kill (or one head shot)
Accuracy-wise, it is functionally the same as the SVD/Type
88, though the “bullet drop” factor at longer
ranges may give the M95 an edge with longer shots. While
bullet drop has been confirmed, no data on how this
is applied is available.
The M95 is a solid choice for MEC/PLA snipers as an
unlock, as it gives them more damage per shot than the
standard sniper rifle, and can be a good choice for
the USMC player as well, if the need for shooting aircraft
crew is important. It should be noted, however, that
hitting a moving helicopter or jet crewman with an M95
is extremely rare.
It does have a drawback at long ranges, the width of
the crosshairs in the scope make it more difficult to
line up head shots than any of the other sniper rifles.

Action: Manually operated bolt

L96A1 |

|
Details
The L96A1 is apt to become the most beloved
sniper rifle in the assortment. While EA/DICE tries to
sell their expansions as balanced with the original game,
this gun is clearly a cut above the rest. Take together
the best of the M24 and M95 and you’ll end up with
the L96A1. It has the same firepower as the M24 and M95,
these rifles will reduce the health with 95% of a full
health soldier in a single shot. On top of that, the L96A1
is together with the M24 the most accurate weapon in the
game. But it overpowers the M24 because of its load time
which is equal to the M95.
It was rumoured that this gun would instant
kill with one shot, but this is not true. It was supposedly
the case while the 1.2 patch was in beta, just like the
M95 and the M24, but for obvious reasons this was changed
for the official release.
While the personal preference of a sniper
will decide between the L96A1 and the M24, the L96A1 is
clearly a better choice than the Type 88 or SVD. The M95?
Well, ain’t it fun to shoot a non-expecting pilot
out of his cockpit?

Assault
G3A3 |

|
Details
The G3 is an automatic self-loading rifle manufactured
by Heckler & Koch and adopted as the standard service
rifle by the armed forces of Germany in 1959. The H&K
G3 is the unlockweapon for the Assault kit. It’s
an interesting weapon. It does more damage per shot
than the other assault rifles, but its reputation for
accuracy is misleading. It has the highest Min. Deviation
of all the assault rifles and highest possible Deviation
per Shot as well (just a little worse than the AK-47).
It has the lowest recoil when zoomed mod, but has higher
multi-shot penalties than any other assault rifle.
This makes the G3 the least accurate assault rifle,
even when firing single shots from the prone position.
In rapid-fire/auto-fire from the prone position, it
becomes more accurate than the AK-47, but only after
three or more shots have been fired.
There are some advantages to choosing the G3 over the
standard rifles though. It gives the player regular
grenades, which at times can be more useful than the
grenade launcher, it does pack power that USMC players
might lack, and the ring and post sight on the G3 can
make long distance shots easier to line up for some
players.
One other advantage the G3 may have over the other
assault rifles is reduced “bullet drop”
at longer ranges. Bullet drop has been confirmed, but
no data on how this actually works is available.

Support
PKM |

|
Details
The PKM is just as accurate firing multiple rounds
as the RPK-74,, possibly even more so, and does more
damage per shot than any other LMG, though it only has
a 100 round magazine. Seeing as you should generally
fire in short bursts anyway, this is rarely a problem.
The high damage and accuracy of the PKM makes it a solid
upgrade for the Support player, especially USMC/PLA
players.
Fair warning though: the PKM has a very distinctive
sound when fired which may draw extra attention to the
player firing it.

MK3A1 (Jackhammer) |

|
Details
The MK3A1 (Pancor Jackhammer) is a very lethal close
quarters weapon. While doing less damage per shot than
the pump-action shotguns, it does a bit more damage
than the S12K (or DAO-12), and it can fire all 7 shots
in just over one second. Like all shotguns, it is not
accurate beyond short range, and it has an enormous
recoil penalty.
It also has a 5 second reload time, so be prepared
to switch to your pistol or knife when using this weapon.

Medic
L85A1 |

|
Details
The L85A1, contrary to popular belief, is not the most
accurate assault rifle. It has the least accurate rapid-fire/full
auto assault performance, and the worst prone benefit.
However, the scope allows players to place shots better
at medium to long range when fired in semi-automatic
mode, making it functionally more accurate for some.
It does a bit more damage than the M16A2 (but still
requires 4 hits to kill a healthy target), and the scope
is useful for spotting as well as good shot placement,
making the L85 a very desirable unlock.

Antitank
DAO-12 |

|
Details
The DAO-12 is a “must have” upgrade for
the Anti-tank kit. At close range it is far more deadly
than the standard sub-machinegun, with a good rate of
fire and decent ammo capacity. Similar to the MEC S12K,
the DAO-12 requires two shots at point blank range to
kill, but has a larger magazine and better zoom recoil.
However, reloading the DAO-12 takes 7.5 seconds, one
shell at a time.
Get close and have a quick trigger finger. One shot
won’t kill a full health player, but a quick volley
of 3-4 will. However, at a distance of more than 15-20
feet, the DAO is highly ineffective and will do no more
than just decrease your accuracy stat. Pull out the
AT or pistol for anything distance.
